Stir Fry Stories is an interdisciplinary collective of Asian American artists living and working in San Mateo County. The project develops and shares new artistic works, produces community gatherings, and creates spaces that center Asian American narratives while fostering connection across cultural communities. By weaving Asian American stories, food, movement, and performance into public-facing events, Stir Fry Stories enriches the cultural fabric of San Mateo County and provides a supportive hub for Bay Area API artists, connecting them to resources and creative venues across the Peninsula.

The collective is led by VC Tang, a San Francisco Bay Area–based storyteller, facilitator, and interdisciplinary artist. VC’s practice centers community, ritual, and embodied experience, often integrating nature, food, music, and movement to address contemporary challenges such as arts advocacy, climate change, and racial belonging. She brings over twenty years of experience designing educational and leadership programs for youth and adults, informed by lifelong mentorship in Asian arts and traditions. VC spent more than 35 years immersed in community and performing arts at the Berkeley Thai Buddhist Temple and currently studies the application of Taijiquan and Zen principles in daily life. She holds an MBA from the University of San Francisco and previously served as Senior Manager and Co-Director of Programs at the Rockwood Leadership Institute.
