TRANSformASIANS is a dynamic showcase exploring gender fluidity, queerness, cultural [re]connection and diasporic healing. Featuring 14 Asian-American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander multidisciplinary artists, who aim to challenge mainstream norms of what “Asian people” can look like, be, and do. TRANSformASIANS is the first all-trans and AANPI performance showcase in San Francisco, despite the AANHPI people making up the largest and fastest growing minoritized group in the Bay Area. The showcase will feature a wide variety of art: drag, burlesque, poetry, dance, singing and live instrumental music. Hosted by local drag artists: Hennessy Williams, King LOTUS BOY, and OBSIDIENNE OBSURD; and benefitting Red Canary Song, a grassroots collective of Asian & migrant sex workers and allies who organize transnationally for human rights.
The event will be ADA accessible with ASL interpretation and live-streaming on: https://watch.sfoasis.com/
