Image Description: Megan Lowe Dances, Piece of Peace, Photos by Maurice Ramirez. Both collages feature dancers jumping in the air, swaying their arms, crouching down, looking up and to the side. Taken with a slow shutter speed, the dancers' movements are captured with feathery golden waves in the air, marking past and present.

Piece of Peace

“What are you?” “Where are you from?” “No, where are you really from?” “I mean, what is your ethnic background?” Piece of Peace, explores mixed-race Asian American Pacific Islander experiences, with an artistic team composed of folks who identify in this way. Through thoughtful text, soulful song, and dynamic dancing, Megan Lowe Dances invites collaborators to share stories of fractured selves and longings to belong, co-creating a supportive environment for connection. This dance is in partnership with ODC's State of Play Festival and APICC's United States of Asian America Festival.
