Musikang Halo-Halo: Starting to Mix is a work that explores artist Theresa Calpotura’s mixed Filipina-American heritage by combining stories from her 100-year-old grandmother's life, Filipinx mythology and legends, traditional instrumentation from the Philippines (including the kutiyapi, kubing, gabbang and guitar), electronics, vocals, spoken word narrative and illustrated visuals created by Amihan Krystal de Leon.
