APICC is proud to present Macro Waves as this year's FEATURED ARTIST for the 25th Annual United States of Asian America Festival.
Breath.io is a multi-sensory installation that serves as a futuristic community healing space. Through sound, visual, and movement therapy, breath.io celebrates the power of collective care through the practice of guided meditation.
Breath.io follows a science fiction narrative in a future utopian reality where humans have reached a higher state of consciousness through the praxis of collective care. Visitors are invited inside the space to participate in a futuristic meditation experience. Entering the installation, an instructional meditation video led by intergenerational guides greets visitors through a series of body movements and breathing exercises. An interactive light sculpture in the center of the installation space leads the visitors through a collective breath exercise. Participants will be encouraged to breathe together in synchronization, symbolizing community union as a form of radical healing. This light sculpture synchronized with the audio-guided meditation will slowly fade bright to dim, mimicking human breath.
