Pirated: a post asian perspective

A group exhibition and month-long program exploring the concept of piracy/the pirate and its impact on culture, power, and the immigrant identity, from an APA perspective. What roles do piracy and the pirate play in the global economy, in the political landscape, and in the shaping of culture and identity? Local artists seek to investigate these questions. Exhibit curated by Peggy Chung, Valerie Soe, Derek Chung, Carlos Villa (advisory capacity) and KSW.

Pirated schedule of events:

  • Exhibit Opening reception on Thursday, May 5, from 5:00–8:00 pm
  • May 14, 2pm–4pm
    Panel Discussion, FREE
  • May 21, 2pm – 4pm
    Pirate Radio Workshop: Please RSVP to KSW; there will be a workshop participant fee
  • May 24 8pm –10pm
    Pirated-themed Readings and Performances, $5
